Happy Friday! Over here I’m gearing up for an awesome Mad Men themed wedding at the Omni Parker House this weekend (so excited!). For those of you with a little more down time, here are some links to send you into the weekend:

I’m a sucker for a great Commencement speech, and this one is particularly good.

Welcome back, Kathryn!

Loved this bridal hair roundup from SMP.

Happy Friday, friends! What do you have planned for the weekend? My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary this weekend with a fancy dinner tonight at Puritan & Co. and an excursion to the Boston Harbor Islands tomorrow. I’m so excited!

I’ve been loving Snippet & Ink‘s mini-moon guides, especially this one for the Bay area (where we celebrated our first anniversary this time last year!).

This video of the first year of a child’s life is absolutely amazing.

I always love a bride in a non-white dress.

And, in honor of our anniversary next year, a glimpse into our wedding (shot by the amazing Corinna Raznikov).

Wedding Advice: Packing Lists

It’s that time of the summer: millions of couples are staring down the last few days or weeks of wedding planning, when chaos seems to be the name of the game.

In the days before my own wedding, as my (now) husband and I packed up the massive number of wedding-related things we’d accumulated and got them ready to be transported to the venue, several apartment neighbors asked if we were preparing to move. Nope, just getting married.

The reality is, whether you’re planning a destination wedding or an event at home, weddings involve a lot of stuff, and in the chaos of the last few days or weeks it’s easy to forget about some of it. Take a deep breath and think through the entire weekend (not just the day of the wedding!) to create a list of items you can slowly check off as you get things together. Pass on this list (or the relevant parts) to your day-of coordinator or wedding planner to ensure that they keep track of everything on the day and during breakdown. It’s a simple step, but often overlooked!

Happy Friday!

It is HOT here in Boston. If I have anything to do with it, this weekend will be filled with ice cream. Here are some links to enjoy in the air conditioning:

Nordstrom Anniversary sale (need I say more?).

Adorable flower girl ideas from the wonderful Snippet & Ink.

Can we get more crazy bold wedding patterns, please? (via Style Me Pretty).

APW does a traditional vow round-up. We said traditional vows are our wedding. What are you planning for yours?
